Brotherhood scribes[1] or technicians[2] are a group of characters within the Brotherhood of Steel in the Fallout TV series.

Scribes are those soldiers in the Brotherhood of Steel who are tasked with operating various types of technology. Their uniform consists of a black vest over a grey uniform shirt and a red scarf.

Fallout TV series[]

The End[]

A scribe draws a portrait of Siggi Wilzig on a grid based on information received on the radio. Several scribes are later present when Quintus gives a mission briefing to the knights and their squires.

The Head[]

A scribe operates another radio in the background while Shortsight talks to Maximus, who is pretending to be Titus.

The Beginning[]

Dane is seen wearing a scribe uniform following their injury, after which Maximus took their place as squire. Several other scribes are also present when Maximus arrives in Filly.

Appearances[]

Brotherhood scribes appear in the Fallout TV series episodes "The End", "The Head", and "The Beginning".

Behind the scenes[]

These characters are portrayed by uncredited background performers, including Kazuo Salazar.[3]

The word "scribe" is not spoken on screen – they are only identified as such in the script for season 1 finale "The Beginning", released in 2025 as part of the Hugo Award voter packet.[1] They are called "technicians" in audio description for "The End".
