Sic semper tyrannis! You can put a single point into any of your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes. You also gain reputation with the NCR for breaking the back of Caesar's Legion, but you lose reputation with Caesar's Legion.— In-game description

Scourge of the East is a perk in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Lonesome Road.

Obtaining[]

During The Apocalypse, after defeating the swarm of marked men in Ulysses' Temple, one must use the launch control panel to set the Divide nuclear missiles to target Legion territory. The perk is not gained until after leaving the Temple, going through the ending, and then returning to the Mojave Wasteland near the canyon wreckage and witnessing the far-off explosion.

Effects[]

Gaining this perk will grant the following:

Notes[]

Obtaining the Mark of Caesar at any time after gaining this perk will remove the Legion infamy that results.

Behind the scenes[]

The Latin phrase in the description, "Sic semper tyrannis," translates to "thus always to tyrants." It is traditionally attributed to Marcus Brutus during the assassination of Julius Caesar and was historically used as a rallying cry against abuse of power. It was most infamously invoked by John Wilkes Booth during his assassination of the 16th US President, Abraham Lincoln.

Bugs[]

PCPC The SPECIAL point must be added. If they have been maxed out, then the player will not be able to continue.[verified]

  • On PC, one can use the console command cam, which will just close the menu and allow one to continue playing.
  • With the Old World Blues add-on, one can use the Big Mountain Transportalponder! to teleport back to Big MT and then back again with getting the perks. This can only be done if the missile has been fired at someone, however, Dry Wells will not be accessible.
