“Sic semper tyrannis! You can put a single point into any of your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes. You also gain reputation with the NCR for breaking the back of Caesar's Legion, but you lose reputation with Caesar's Legion.”— In-game description
Scourge of the East is a perk in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Lonesome Road.
Obtaining
Launch the nuclear missiles at Caesar's Legion.
Effects
Allows investing one SPECIAL point, NCR fame and Caesar's Legion infamy. It also grants access to Dry Wells.
Notes
Obtaining the Mark of Caesar after this perk will remove the Legion infamy that results.
Behind the scenes
The Latin phrase in the description, "Sic semper tyrannis," translates to "thus always to tyrants." It is traditionally attributed to Marcus Brutus during the assassination of Julius Caesar and was historically used as a rallying cry against abuse of power. It was most infamously invoked by John Wilkes Booth during the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
Bugs
The SPECIAL point must be added. If you have them maxed out, then you will not be able to continue. [verified]
- FIX: PC users can use the console command "cam" that will just close the menu and let one continue.
- FIX: If you have the DLC Old World Blues, you can transportalpond back to the Big MT and then back with getting the perks. Can only be done if the missile has been fired at someone, however Dry Wells will not be accessible.
