Scott Everts is a developer who worked at Interplay Entertainment and Black Isle Studios on Fallout and Fallout 2 as a technical designer and level designer, as well as at Obsidian Entertainment on Fallout: New Vegas as the lead world builder.

Career[]

Work on the Fallout series[]

Everts designed all the maps and level layouts for the original Fallout,[1] on which he was credited as a technical designer.

On Fallout 2, he was credited as a technical designer and a level designer. His technical design work included more maps, as well as scenery art manipulation and inventory items. His level design work included the town of Gecko, the Den, Klamath, Arroyo, Vault City and various random encounters.[2] The Vault City designer notes explicitly credit him for the maps of Vault City.[3]

For Fallout: New Vegas, he was credited as the lead world builder for the base game and its add-ons. He worked on art implementation and location building for areas such as Freeside[4] and Westside.[5] He was also responsible for putting add-on hooks into Fallout: New Vegas.[6] On the add-on Honest Hearts, he performed much of the level design for Zion Canyon, alongside Joshua Sawyer.[7]

Other work[]

Everts has also worked on over 20 different games, including Star Trek: 25th Anniversary, Star Trek: Judgment Rites, Stonekeep, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale 2 and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 at Interplay, and Star Wars Knight of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords, Neverwinter Nights 2, Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer at Obsidian.

Joshua Sawyer: "Thanks. Most of the content of Westside was developed by Jeff Husges, though I wrote a few of the characters (Anderson, Meansonofabitch), John Gonzalez wrote some (maybe all?) of the characters in Casa Madrid, and Jorge Salgado developed the Thorn. Scott Everts did most of the world building."

You probably remember that the soundtrack for the first part of Fallout was released on a separate disc as part of some boxed versions of the game. Relatively recently, information appeared on the Internet that the soundtrack to Fallout 2 was also released on CD, but in very limited quantities. Maybe you remember something about it?
    Thanks."

Chris Avellone: "I wouldn't be surprised. If you ever can get in contact with "Scott Everts" at Obsidian, he would know for sure (I don't have his contact info, but Scotty was one of the biggest supporters for releasing the music as part of the game)."
