The Saturnite fist super-heated is a weapon in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Old World Blues.
Background[]
A modified version of the standard Saturnite D-25A power fist, its creation comes from being overheated by a process only known to the Toaster in the Sink. While the heat retention of the Saturnite alloy allows it to inflict incendiary damage, the thrusting mechanism is damaged as a result, causing a loss of attack speed, albeit still remaining at a faster rate than the regular power fist.
Characteristics[]
Compared to the Saturnite fist, the Saturnite fist super-heated has less durability and a slower attack speed, but it inflicts higher amounts of normal and critical hit damage. Upon getting a critical strike, the enemy is set on fire, inflicting 2 points of fire damage for 5 seconds. It is considered an improved holdout weapon.

Location[]
The weapon cannot be found in the game, instead it must be "crafted" by the Toaster in the Sink. This requires one to find the Toaster's personality module first, located in the Cuckoo's Nest slightly northwest of the X-2 transmitter antenna array in the southwest ordinal direction of Big MT. Once the Toaster has been reactivated, a Saturnite fist must be in the inventory to turn it into the super-heated version via the appropriate dialogue option.
Notes[]
- A super-heated Saturnite fist will always come out at 85% condition when crafted with the Toaster, regardless of what condition the Saturnite fist used in its creation was beforehand.
- After being worn for a short period of time, the red-hot areas will dim, however, the special effects will persist.
- With the Pyromaniac perk, the weapon will deal higher damage than the ballistic fist, with a faster attack speed, a lower AP cost in V.A.T.S. and lower Strength and Unarmed skill requirements.
- Like the power fist and ballistic fist, the super-heated Saturnite fist clips into T-51b power armor and Remnants power armor, making it look like it was grafted into the armor.
- If one's Unarmed skill is high enough to unlock the uppercut and cross techniques in V.A.T.S., the normal attack both in and out of V.A.T.S. will execute much less often and instead these moves will be performed, including at their faster attack speed than the basic strike.
- Despite being created via a method of heat retention, wearing the super-heated Saturnite fist does not harm the Courier even though they are not wearing any visible protection on their hand.
- Despite being a variant of the power fist, it does not contribute to kills counted for Vault 13's Revenge.
Bugs[]
- The weapon's skin will go up and behind the arm to about the shoulder. To fix this, un-equip and re-equip the weapon, or go to a different area.[verified]
- If given to Veronica, the skins will change randomly from a large, molten power fist to an orange-knuckled glove.[verified]
