Samuel Adams was a historical figure in the Revolutionary War.

Background[]

Adams gave speeches at Faneuil Hall, along with several other Founding Fathers.[1][Non-game 1] Just before the Revolutionary War, he and John Hancock were warned by Paul Revere and William Dawes on their midnight ride that British forces were planning to arrest them.[2][Non-game 2] Adams was buried in the Granary Burying Grounds, along with Paul Revere, John Hancock, and the five victims of the Boston Massacre.[3][Non-game 3]

Notes[]

  • Several of the historical plaques found at locations around the Freedom Trail describe historical events which Samuel Adams was involved in. The specific plaques are the ones for Faneuil Hall, the Paul Revere House, and the Granary Burying Grounds. Adams is also mentioned in the Fallout 4 Vault Dweller's Survival Guide entries for those locations, which are largely copied from the in-game plaques.
  • Codsworth mentions Adams specifically when at the hall of Faneuil Hall, noting that he would be rolling in his grave to see it in such a state.[4]

Appearances[]

Samuel Adams is mentioned only in Fallout 4.

Behind the scenes[]

The Button Gwinnett Brewery and its Gwinnett beer brand, named for Founding Father Button Gwinnett, is a reference to the real-world Samuel Adams beer brand, which was similarly named for Samuel Adams.
