The salvaged Assaultron head is a ranged weapon in Fallout 76.
Characteristics
This salvaged head of an Assaultron is fired like a non-automatic energy pistol. Charge in input by reloading repeatedly. The more charges, the higher the damage.
It irradiates the user when used. The self-damage is the same regardless of the number of charges or weapon level. It deals either 25 or 50 [1][verification needed]
Radiation Exposure damage via enchantment.The Assaultron head has a hidden passive ability that will allow it to reduce every target to ash.[2][verification needed] The range is also a fixed value.
Aside from Legendary crafting, the salvaged Assaultron head cannot be modified in any way. The Imposter Assaultron head is crafted separate as a standalone item, rather than as a paintjob.
Damage per stack is additive? The behavior would be the same for Quad, regardless.[verification needed]

Locations
- One can be found at the Pioneer Scout camp, on a shelf in the archery range.
- One can sometimes be found on the body of a dead Assaultron.
Notes
- Affected by the Grounded mutation.
- The projectile creates a small, cosmetic explosion upon impact.
Changelog
- No longer spawns with the explosive legendary prefix. Explosive assaultron heads are considered legacy content.
- Crafting is no longer affected by Super Duper. Prior to this, it could be used to duplicate screws.

- [patched] This weapon works really well with the quad legendary effect. However, some players have reported that the gun is extremely bugged and does almost no damage, regardless of how many charges are fired, even if it is a quad-explosive.
Behind the scenes
- The Assaultron head reloads much slower than its Fallout 4 counterpart.
- The Imposter Assaultron head is listed as a dynamic attachment combination variant for the standard Assaultron head, however, it is not used. This older version of the Sheepsquatch variant was divided into 6 hidden mods that each added a piece of the model. Additionally, it would have applied the Severe beta wave tuner attributes, emulating the laser used by the Imposter Sheepsquatch which sets the ground on fire.[4]
