The runaway girl was a girl that ran away from home in October 2077. She left a holotape in the ranger cabin.

On the eve of the Great War, she divulged an unknown secret to her parents and they disowned her, at which point she decided to escape her bad home situation. She considered going to someone named John, who was unknowingly involved in the secret. She eventually decided not to, opting to go to the ranger cabin instead, remembering it from her childhood. She died there when the Great War struck.[1]
While the girl's secret is never explicitly stated in her holotape, the holotape's script notes confirm the secret to be that she had gotten pregnant out of wedlock, presumably with John.

- The runaway girl is one of several voice-only characters who has a unique character model for their holotape voice NPC.
- In the Creation Kit, the runaway girl is named Abigail in the ShortName parameter. This does not appear anywhere in-game, because holotapes do not use the ShortName parameter for the subtitles' speaker name.
