Rum & Nuka is an alcoholic consumable in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics[]
Rum & Nuka is a variation of Nuka-Cola. This mixed drink, containing some Nuka-Cola, has multiple effects, plus one bottle cap is added to the Courier's inventory when it is consumed.
Locations[]
- Can be purchased from the Garret Twins at the Atomic Wrangler Casino under specific circumstances. In order for the Garrets to start selling Rum & Nuka, you must first complete the quest High Times. Then, get to the point in Friend of the Followers where you tell James Garret that Julie Farkas agrees to the deal. Now ask James Garret "how's business?" He can reply in a few different ways. Keep asking the same question until he tells you he now sells Absinthe and Rum & Nuka. Him and Francine Garret should now be selling the drinks. At this point in the quest, James should have told you that he will be sending supplies over to Julie shortly. If you tell Julie about this, the quest will be completed and the dialogue required to stock the drinks will no longer be available.
- One can be won free of charge during the unmarked quest Big Winner, Atomic Wrangler.

- Because Rum & Nuka is an alcoholic beverage, the reduction in Intelligence is negated by having the Whiskey Rose perk.
- Unlike other forms of alcohol, Rum & Nuka does not carry any risk of alcohol addiction.
- Rum & Nuka is not affected by the Old World Gourmet perk.
Behind the scenes[]
The drink is named after "Rum and Coke," the colloquial name for the mixed drink Cuba Libre.
Bugs[]
The properties for Rum & Nuka include a boost to the player's Agility. However, the magnitude of this effect is set to zero, though it has a set duration (4 minutes). [verified]- Rum & Nuka is set as neither a food item nor a medicine item, meaning the magnitude of its effects are not modified by any of the player's skill levels. [verified]
