Background[]
Rita Wilcox was a member of the Scorchslayers, a squad of Fire Breathers recruits who made it to their final exam. During the exam, she accused fellow recruit Sylvester Tate of causing the deaths of Timothy Wolfe and Andrew Rhodes.[1] She died alongside her squad leader Maxine Ballard, fighting off waves of Scorched in Belching Betty after triggering the mine alarm as part of the final stage of the exam.
Prior to beginning training to join the Fire Breathers, Wilcox was a member of the Responders. She was also romantically involved with fellow Responder Buck, and the pair had one last night together at the Alpine River Cabins before Wilcox went to the Charleston Fire Department for training.[2]
