Rip Smithy is one of the inhabitants of Point Lookout. He is a member of Plik's hunting club, and accompanies the Lone Wanderer during Plik's Safari in 2277.
Background[]
A merchant, hired-gun, and part-time smuggler, Rip Smithy recently made a boatload of caps selling a pair of child slaves named Sammy and Squirrel to Eulogy Jones over at Paradise Falls.[Non-game 1]

Quests[]
- Plik's Safari: Unlike Jacob Humboldt, Smithy wears a practical suit of metal armor, and is equipped with a lever-action rifle for the safari. Despite these effective counter-measures, Smithy will likely meet his demise during Plik's Safari due to the large amount of feral ghouls. If he survives, he will boast and brag about how he saved the Lone Wanderer's life.
Effects of player's actions[]
- If one puts on the ghoul mask before fighting in Plik's Safari, the ghouls will not attack the player character unless they are attacked. Also, Rip Smithy and Jacob Humboldt will not be attacked by the ghouls nor attack them.
