The Residents of Vault 76, also referred to as the Ressies,[1] are the player characters in Fallout 76. On October 23, 2102, twenty-five years to the day since the Great War, they emerged from their vault for Reclamation Day and began exploring and re-colonizing Appalachia.
Background
Those individuals who were selected to enter Vault 76 represented the cream of the crop of the United States' citizens. Each was chosen for their unique skills and temperament, which made managing them a challenge for the vault's staff.[2] the resident had won awards in the vault evident by the display case in their quarters for contributing to the vault for volunteering for the canned mystery meat experiment when no else would eat it, or the isolation program, and the vault hall monitor award, and various other awards.
The overseer advised the Residents to run as fast and far from Vault
76 as possible when the door was unsealed for Reclamation Day.[3]
