“Your spine is back in your body, but some advance technologies remain: Your torso can now be crippled again, but your Strength (STR) and Damage Threshold (DT) bonuses have doubled! (+2)”— In-game description
Reinforced Spine is a special perk in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Old World Blues.
Obtaining[]
This perk can be acquired by successfully convincing the Courier's brain to return to its body or return to the Sink and then going to the Think Tank to confront the Think Tank during Old World Blues. If one enters the Sink from the balcony instead and if it was installed, the Sink Auto-Doc can optionally be used to restore the spine and swap out Spineless for the perk and vice versa.
Effects[]
Gaining this perk grants a permanent +2 to Strength and Damage Threshold as well as enables the player character's torso to be crippled again.
Notes[]
- Compared to Spineless, one gains double the Strength and Damage Threshold bonuses (from +1 to +2) at the cost of the torso being vulnerable to damage and eventually crippling again.
- The bonus is not added to base Strength, thus it will not count toward qualifying for perks with a Strength requirement.
- Reinforced Spine shares the same Vault Boy image as Spineless.
