12 eggs, mixed up
1 loaf bread, stale and crumbled
1 bottle mayonnaise (see Marjorie for mayo)

2 fists of salt
Oil (for pan)

Remove any shell from mirelurk. In bucket, toss together bread, egg, scrub and mayo until moistened, but do not over mix. Add any available spices for taste

In a heavy pan, fry cakes in oil, turning once until both sides are brown

Notes

This recipe cannot actually be made in the game, as none of the ingredients, aside from the mirelurk meat, exist within the game.

Behind the scenes

Timothy Cain, the producer/lead programmer for Fallout and Fallout 2, was particularly fond of cooking and would often surprise his team with culinary delicacies of his own creation. This led to the inclusion of some of his recipes in game manuals and in games themselves. While unconfirmed, it is possible that the mirelurk cake recipe is a homage to this phenomenon. Note that if one presumes that mirelurk meat is crab meat, this is essentially a recipe for breaded crab cakes.
