Raider armor (Fallout 76)

Raider armor is an armor set in Fallout 76.

Characteristics[]

Raider armor consists of five separate pieces: the chest, both arms and both legs. Like with all other armor pieces, each can be worn over clothing to combine the stat bonuses, though certain outfits may occupy some or all of the armor slots.

This armor set is fashioned from small metal plates, bars, and wires, and is formed into a frame around the body by rivets, welding, and straps.

Appearance[]

Although raider armor has a paint slot, there are no paints that can be applied to it.

Plans[]

  • Plans for the light, sturdy and heavy raider armor pieces have a very low chance of dropping from quests and events in the Savage Divide region and during the Signal Strength main quest.
  • They also have a chance to be awarded from different types of mutated packs, which are obtained from mutated public events.

Legendary effects[]

  • Raider armor body pieces can be obtained with legendary effects.
  • Legendary light armor starts to drop at level 5, sturdy at level 15 and heavy at level 25.
  • Legendary armor pieces can be bought with legendary scrip from Purveyor Murmrgh or can be awarded as drop from events or legendary enemies.
  • Raider armor effects can be re-rolled using legendary crafting feature.

Notes[]

  • The tempered chest material modification gives more ER than hardened material modification.
  • Crafting the heavy raider right leg requires 4 cloth, 2 screws and 10 steel more than crafting the left leg.
  • Buttressed and hardened armor modifications change the visual look of all armor pieces (see gallery).
  • There are 6 different light armor models.

Bugs[]

  • Modding light armor A1 with the buttressed or hardened mod will change it into light model A6. It's the only light raider chest that is not changed into the heavy model when modded with the buttressed or hardened mod. This bug is caused by missing addon index number 1.
    • Update 47 patch notes stated "The Raider Buttressed Armor mod now uses the correct model", but raider armor was not changed at all in this or any of the future patches. The bug still exists.
  • The heavy raider chest piece is using the buttressed/hardened version of light armor instead of the unique heavy armor model that is now unused. It was removed from the game at one point in the past. This bug is caused by using a wrong addon index.
