Radiation emitters are traps and constructible settlement objects in Fallout 4.

Characteristics[]

They are mines that emit radiation using their sensors if a target wanders close. They act as settlement defense items, adding two points to the settlement's defense value.

In some non-settlement locations, primarily ones populated by the Children of Atom, radiation emitters are also found as traps. They may either be triggered by some linked sensor, like a tripwire, or by its own proximity. If triggered, they will explode and emit a cloud of strong radiation (30 rads/second at the epicenter) within a 24-unit radius.[1][2]

Location[]

  • Craftable at a workshop.
  • Found as a trap in the following locations:
    • Two at the crater house:
      • On a barrel on the road leading to one of the metal shack entrances above the crater. Triggered by a nearby tripwire.
      • On the roof inside the shack with a terminal. Triggered by a tension trigger on the steamer trunk nearby.
    • Two at Jalbert Brothers Disposal:
      • Buried in the garbage in a corner outside the radioactive shack. It cannot be seen, as it is placed below the static rubble.
      • Outside the trailer, in the corner next the refrigerator. It also cannot be seen, as it is placed under the ground.
    • Three at Kingsport Lighthouse:
      • One on the road leading up to the location, between two tires, triggered by a nearby laser tripwire.
      • One hidden among the rocks in the small patch of forest inside of where the road curves 180 degrees up to the main lighthouse area. Triggered by a nearby laser tripwire.
      • One at the top of the stairwell of the blue house, triggered by a nearby laser tripwire.
    • Nuka-World (add-on) One in the large maze room of the Nuka-World access tunnels, found on some crates in a dead end in the southwest corner of this room. Triggered by a tripwire just before it.
