The proton axe is a weapon in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Old World Blues.
Characteristics
The proton axe resembles a futuristic war-axe with a glowing blue blade of electrical energy at its head, on the other side it has two capacitors which also share the same blue electric current. Upon striking an enemy it electrocutes them and enemies are turned into a blue ash pile when killed with a critical hit; commonly found with energy weapons of all types, which resembles Alien Blaster's shot.

Behind the scenes
- The technology used by this weapon appears to be similar to the electric weapons created in the Secret Vault by Vault-Tec.
- One of the earliest "ancestors" of the Fallout series, called Wasteland, featured the proton axe as a very powerful melee weapon.
