Protocol Adonais is a side quest in Fallout 76, introduced in the Once in a Blue Moon update.
The following quests must be completed before Protocol Adonais is available to the player: Wolf in Sheep's Clothing (from Wild Appalachia), Out of the Blue (from Steel Reign) and the Costa Business quest line (which concludes with Costa Business: Carver).
Walkthrough[]
- Check in with Aries. He has been feeling bothered lately because he wants to complete an initiative he calls "Protocol Adonais." It involves collecting a series of holotapes.
- The first holotape is Protocol Adonais #5 at Scoot's shack, west of Delano Grange.
- The second holotape is Protocol Adonais #4 at the lost home in the Cranberry Bog.
- The third holotape is Protocol Adonais #3 at Ray Gary's home in Welch.
- The fourth holotape is Protocol Adonais #2 on the corpse of a Blood Eagle at Uncanny Caverns.
- The fifth holotape is Protocol Adonais #1 at Van Lowe Taxidermy in Lewisburg, in a cooler past the secret door.
- Return to Aries, where the player can tell him they know who he is: Calvin van Lowe. Aries gives the player Protocol Adonais #6. He asks them to either burn all the tapes or give them to Carver Timmerman, his step-nephew.
- Burn the tapes in a nearby fire barrel or speak to Carver and follow his dialogue. Either decision will complete the quest.
