Prisoners of War is a side quest in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts
Quick walkthrough [ ] Detailed walkthrough [ ] After completing Gathering Storms by siding with Daniel and starting Flight from Zion to help the Sorrows evacuate Zion Canyon , Joshua Graham warns the Courier that several Sorrows were lost during the evacuation and scattered around the canyon, needing to be rescued; among these outlying cases are several tribesmen that were captured by the White Legs and imprisoned in an impromptu prison camp at Ranger Substation Osprey .
Travel to the pre-War structure, found slightly north of Cueva Guarache and northeast of the Zion Ranger station (visited during Tourist Trap ). One will encounter 3-4 White Legs around the substation, guarding the prisoners; at higher levels, they may attack with high-tier weapons like brush guns and anti-materiel rifles . It is optional to kill the raider guards and just sneak past them to save the prisoners, but this will run the risk of getting them killed as the Sorrows will immediately attack the White Legs on sight; their deaths will result in failing the optional objective for Flight from Zion.
The metal bar door to the cell must be opened in order to complete the objective to free the prisoners. One can either pick the Hard -leveled lock, or find and obtain the key from a toolbox in the substation tower's upper level. Both solutions complete the quest and garner XP , though potentially missing the small amount of bonus XP for successfully picking the lock directly.
