- Pretty Boy Lloyd is a reference to Pretty Boy Floyd, an infamous bank robber in the 1930s.
- The quote said by the Chosen One in Golgotha is a reference to the 1966 spaghetti western film The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, with minor alterations. The quote is said by Clint Eastwood's character, the Man with No Name, at the end of the film as he forces Tuco to dig for the stashed Confederate gold in the war cemetery.
