Powered armor is a type of armor in Fallout.

Background

Worn by Brotherhood knights, power armor is made of a poly-laminate composite, shielding the user from radiation and damage while providing increased strength.[1][2][3] Those who utilize the armor benefit from increased strength, the ability to survive for weeks without water, and protection from radiation damage if the suit remains airtight.[4][5][6][7]

After the first lockpick attempt all nearby Brotherhood members turn hostile. Senior paladins and senior scribes do not come out of the storeroom, so the second attempt is impossible (when closing in on the door, the battle starts). The only possible way to lockpick the storeroom during combat is to use an electronic lock pick. The initiate is in the Old Town section of the Hub. He will be located in the building directly below the entry point. He can be freed by killing his guards. It will require a Repair check to complete the suit.
