Port-A-Diners are claw style vending machines in Fallout 4 which will rarely dispense perfectly preserved pie. The chance is extremely low, with even a whole day of game time harboring no results.
When activated once per day, each individual Port-A-Diner will have its own individual chance. Allowing you to hit all of them individually in order to gain 1 perfectly preserved pie for any number of machines.
Giving the perfectly preserved pie to one of your companions will cause them to eat it when injured, consuming the pie. Upon giving it to the chef in Vault 81, she will say "How did you get one of my pies?!" in an on-screen dialogue. This will only be said once, regardless of how many times you get a new pie from the Port-A-Diner.
When activating the Port-A-Diner if the claw immediately drops down it will result in a failed attempt. Only when the machine is activated and the claw slightly adjusts itself above the pie will it result in a successful attempt.

Notes
- When a Port-A-Diner is activated, the game generates a random number between 1 and 1000. If that number is less than or equal to (2 x Luck + attempts / 2) you get the pie.
- The Port-A-Diner at the Nuka-World junkyard has a 100% chance of giving out a perfectly preserved pie.
- There is also a clean version of the Port-A-Diner, which is unused in the game. It can still be found in the game files.
Bugs
Sometimes you will not get a pie (Port-A-Diner's container will be empty) even if the mechanical claw successfully took it. This bug appears to be very common in Medford Memorial Hospital. [verified] it has not yet been found how to fix this bug.
