Detailed walkthrough
The Sole Survivor can talk Sheng Kawolski and bring up the question of if he has any work that needs doing. Sheng will explain that the source the town draws its water from needs to cleared of debris, and offer this task to the Sole Survivor, at which point they will have the opportunity to negotiate a higher payment for this service through Charisma checks. The job itself involves searching around in the irradiated pool for five marked junk items. Once completed the Sole Survivor can return to Sheng and claim payment for the work.

Notes
- After paying the Sole Survivor he might also tell them that someone else tried to clean the water before them and that they were blown up by a grenade while on the job, apparently true given the presence of a skull in the water, which is also one of the marked items.
- John Hancock, Piper Wright and Nick Valentine like it when the Sole Survivor helps clean the water supply.
- Robert Joseph MacCready likes it when the Sole Survivor asks for more money with the yellow Charisma checks but dislikes it when they actually accept the mission.
