Plasma grenades are weapons in Fallout 2.

Characteristics[]

Plasma grenades are very rare but powerful thrown explosives. When detonated, a small explosive in the grenade ruptures the magnetic seal containing a charge of superheated plasma energy.

It is not recommended to use them against advanced power armor as it can absorb around 50-80% damage. However, just about everyone and everything else has a low plasma resistance, making this grenade type the most useful late to end game.

Locations[]

  • Two in an ammo crate in the Sierra Army Depot's armory on level 2.
  • Two in a footlocker on level 4 of the Sierra Army Depot.
  • Three in a locked footlocker in the supply room on level 3 of Vault 13.
  • One, on Captain Pickard, level one of Mariposa Military Base.
  • Two in a footlocker on level two of the Mariposa Military Base.
  • One in a locker on level two of the Mariposa Military Base.
  • Carried by Hubologists in random encounters featuring five standing in a circle, one is guaranteed to have several on their person. Unlike most other situations, failing a steal does not provoke them into hostility and does not damage Karma/reputation, making plasma grenades potentially more plentiful than frag grenades.
  • Sometimes used by mercenaries in random encounters.
  • Four in a footlocker in Quincy's workshop at Navarro Main Base (to the right).
  • Navarro underground - Four can be found in a armory locker.
  • Sometimes used by the Enclave.
  • One in a locker in the Enclave Oil Rig's armory.
  • Two in a locker in the Enclave Oil Rig's reactor level.
