The Pitt train yard is a location in the Pitt in 2277. The only inhabitants are Pitt raiders, all of which become hostile after a dialogue sequence.

Background[]

Before the Great War, the Pitt train yard was an industrial train yard for the nearby factories in Pittsburgh. The train yard has become an outpost for the Pitt raiders due to its location near the Pitt Bridge, the only way in or out of the city.

Layout[]

The area is nestled in a shallow gorge. On the west side is an inaccessible building whose roof is made accessible by a ramp. There are several train cars in varying states of disrepair, and a catwalk system. The player character is dropped off at the southern end. The northern end is blocked off by debris from a rockslide, so the only way out is through a narrow path at the northeastern part of the gorge. This path between two cliffs leads directly to the Pitt Bridge.

Notes[]

There are some unique animations for some of the raiders when one first exits out of the train tunnel.

Appearances[]

The Pitt train yard appears only in the Fallout 3 add-on The Pitt.

Behind the scenes[]

The Pitt train yard's tunnel connection is located in the same geographical location as the real world Wabash Tunnel.
