When equipped on a power armor helmet, the player character's AP refreshes 20% faster during the period of sunlight from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

With the Creation Club content "Captain Cosmos", it can be equipped on the CC-00 power armor. Unlike other power armor sets, the CC-00 version of the mod can be applied to any armor piece, allowing one to achieve a maximum 120% increased AP refresh speed during sunlight hours.

Crafting[]
In order to craft the photovoltaic coating mod, a power armor frame with the desired helmet piece attached, must be installed at a power armor station.

The photovoltaic coating modification will not appear as loot, nor is it sold by any merchants in the game. It can only be obtained via crafting at a power armor station.
