The Pepper Shaker is a ranged weapon in Fallout 76, introduced in the Steel Reign update.
Characteristics[]
The Pepper Shaker is a heavy rotary barrel machine shotgun. It takes one second to spin up before it begins automatically firing shotgun blasts of eight projectiles. It counts as both a shotgun and heavy gun, and as such will benefit from any perk within each weapon class. Like all multi-projectile weapons, the outgoing damage is split between the number of projectiles. If the Pip-Boy damage is 200, each pellet will deal 25 damage. (If the single barrel was equipped, each pellet would do 12.5 damage.)
The Pepper Shaker uses shotgun shells by default, but can be modified to utilize fusion cells or plasma cartridges, both of which will also slightly increase the damage. The number of barrels may be customized as well, augmenting the fire rate, accuracy or even the number of projectiles. Additionally, it may be fitted with an upgraded gunner sight for improved control while firing down sights.
The Pepper Shaker is by far the best gun for crippling enemies, especially when equipped with the single barrel, which doubles the amount of projectiles fired at once. The hex barrel, which makes it fire much faster, is also useful. The Crippling legendary effect is effective for this reason; Explosive is also a great choice, though these were extremely rare before the patch and were only reintroduced with the Milepost Zero update.

The Plan: Pepper Shaker is only obtainable as a rare reward from Grahm's Meat Cook. Once learned, it may be crafted at a weapons workbench, purchased from the Purveyor or rewarded as a Legendary drop.

- The Pepper Shaker is player tradeable.
- Players may encounter Daily Ops communist boss enemies armed with a variant of the Pepper Shaker, which fires 6 pellets per round, is equipped with the hex barrel set and has firing effects present only on weapons chambering .50 caliber balls.
- The modifications plans for the Pepper Shaker may be purchased and learned prior to unlocking the weapon.
- Shortly after being added to the game, Pepper Shakers were able to spawn with the Explosive legendary effect as a reward from ally quests due to a bug. These Pepper Shakers were by far the rarest legacies in the game, and were extremely sought after by many players before their duplication and later removal.
