Park rangers are deceased members of the National Park Service, previously assigned to the Shenandoah National Park and whose corpses are found in Fallout 76, introduced in the Skyline Valley update.

Background[]

After the Great War, many park rangers survived and continued to operate in the region known as Skyline Valley. However, many either left the region or were killed by hostile forces in Appalachia, such as super mutants attacking Stony Man Lookout or the Blood Eagles taking over High Knob Lookout.

The only park ranger in Shenandoah known to have lived into 2105 is Kevin Harris, who cooped up in the ranger station bunker and survived due to his paranoid, isolationist personality, rarely leaving the safety of the bunker.

Notes[]

  • Although there are two variants of the park ranger corpses each for male and female, their appearances are randomized and can vary greatly.[verification overdue]
  • The final words note is found next to a female park ranger corpse at Camp Liberty, and appears to have been written by her.

Appearances[]

Park rangers appear only in Fallout 76, introduced in the Skyline Valley update.

Behind the scenes[]

At the Stony Man Lookout, there is a park ranger corpse in a cell that is uniquely posed. Its posing appears to reference the memetic "death pose" from the animated series Family Guy, which was popularized on the Internet in 2022.
