Owens Lake is a dry lake bed in eastern California, west of New Vegas.

Background[edit | edit source]

The dry lakebed of Owens Lake was the staging ground for many raider attacks throughout the Sierra Nevada region of California, and attacks were commonplace until New Californian soldiers arrived in the region driving out any raider tribes.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Owens Lake is mentioned only in Fallout: New Vegas.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Owens Lake is based on the real world location of Owens Lake, a dry lake bed on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada in Inyo County, California. It is about 5 miles (8.0 km) south of Lone Pine, California. The location should not be confused with the similarly named Owen's Dry Lake, Nevada.
