Orville Wright (August 19, 1871 – January 30, 1948) was an inventor who, alongside his brother Wilbur Wright, is credited with the creation of the first airplanes.
Background
Orville was born in Dayton, Ohio, one of seven children. As a young person, he was never able to graduate high school due to the family's frequent moves for his father's work. Instead, he started a printing business in 1889, having designed and built his own printing press with his brother, Wilbur. The pair began working on bicycles, which were popular at the time and created their own brand beginning in 1896.
The transition from designing and manufacturing bicycles transferred to an interest in aeronautics and the field of flight. Their success with the bicycle business allowed them to fund their initiative to create the first controlled and powered aircraft, dubbed the Wright Flyer, successfully taking its debut flight on December 17, 1903 in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The flight lasted 12 seconds and was the first sustained flight of its kind in human history.[1][2]
Appearances
Orville Wright is mentioned only in Fallout 3.

"The aircraft above is the original Wright Flyer I designed by Orville and Wilbur Wright. On December 17, 1903 in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, the vehicle preformed its maiden flight for a mere 12 seconds, covering a distance of only 120 feet. This historic event marked the first sustained and controlled heavier-than-air powered flight."
