- Try to talk to Dr. 8.
- Pass a Science check of 75 or a Perception check of 7.
- Decide what to do with Dr. 8.
The player has the task of speaking to each of the Big MT scientists. After exhausting the seemingly senseless conversation options with Doctor 8, the player, with either a Perception of 7 or a Science skill of 75, can recognize his efforts at communication as the RobCo termlink protocol and understand him.
With this knowledge, and another Science skill check of 75, the player can choose to exploit this knowledge, or to leave Doctor 8 alone, explaining that they know what it's like to be experimented on (referring to their non-consensual lobotomy). If you threaten Doctor 8, you will be given some (about 30) energy cells and bad Karma. If the latter is chosen, the doctor will be grateful and the player will receive Good Karma.
After passing the check to understand him, the player will have the opportunity to speak with Doctor 8 about the Sonic Emitter, as he is the foremost authority on the weapon, as well as its creator. This can lead to rather humorous dialogue about Doctor 8's seeming fetish over the device, and his method of activating the emitter -- 'sonjaculating'.
The player can also imply through dialogue that masturbation is okay, and whenever the player feels the urge, they search for Cram and Duct tape, "Good to go.", Doctor 8 will then give the player two of each, plus a copy of ¡La Fantoma!. A female character will say "I usually just take a fusion cell and oscillate its charge, vibrates for like, an hour" and receive cells and Tales of Chivalrie instead.
