Detailed walkthrough
The player has the task of speaking to each of the Big MT scientists. After exhausting the seemingly senseless conversation options with Dr. 8, the player can identify his efforts at communication (as the RobCo termlink protocol) with either a Perception of 7, or a Science skill of 75.
With this knowledge (and another Science skill check of 75), the player can choose to either exploit this knowledge, or leave the Doctor alone. If the player threatens Dr. 8, they'll be given around 30 energy cells to leave him alone and not reprogram him, as well as bad Karma. If the latter is chosen, and the Courier explains that they know what it's like to be experimented on (referring to their non-consensual lobotomy), the doctor will be grateful, and the player will receive good Karma.
After passing the check to understand him, the player will have the opportunity to speak with Dr. 8 about the sonic emitter, one of his creations. This can lead to rather humorous dialogue about Doctor 8's apparent fetish over the device, as well as "sonjaculating" (his method of activating the emitter).
The player can also imply through dialogue that masturbation is okay, and that they search for Cram and duct tape, and once found they are "good to go" whenever they feel the urge. Doctor 8 will then give the player two of each, plus a copy of ¡La Fantoma!. Should a female character say, "I usually just take a fusion cell and oscillate its charge; it vibrates for like, an hour.", she will receive microfusion cells, and Tæles of Chivalrie instead.
