“Raul's rate of fire with revolvers and lever action firearms is 33% faster than normal.”— In-game description
Old Vaquero is a companion perk in Fallout: New Vegas.
Requirements[]
Gaining this perk requires completing the unmarked quest Old School Ghoul by convincing Raul Tejada that he should return to his old life as a gunslinger.
If chosen dialogue options were to convince Raul that he should retire from gunslinging, passing a 66 Speech check will change his mind and gain the perk.
Effects[]
When Raul Tejada is an active companion, he gains a 33% bonus to his rate of fire when using revolvers and lever-action firearms.

Notes[]
- Despite wielding a .44 Magnum revolver as his default weapon, due to a bug, the perk's RoF bonus does not affect it, meaning one will have to give Raul better weapons for him to benefit from Old Vaquero.
- Unlike Full Maintenance, gaining this perk for Raul will not overwrite Regular Maintenance, meaning Raul still gains increased RoF with his weapons while providing the 50% reduction in equipment degradation of his original perk.
- Along with the perk, Raul will also gain the Vaquero outfit.
- Old Vaquero shares the same Vault Boy image as Math Wrath.
- "Vaquero" translates in Spanish to "cowboy."
- Raul is the only male companion with a perk that upgrades his stats.
