Nuka-Cola is a consumable item in Fallout: New Vegas.
Background[]
Nuka-Cola entered the beverage market in 2044, with the invention of the soft drink by John-Caleb Bradberton after two years of experimentation.[1] It contained 120% of the recommended daily allowance of sugar, and took the United States market by storm, and within a year could be purchased nationwide.[2][3]
Characteristics[]
Nuka-Cola is not affected by Survival skill, thus its effects are not improved.
While playing Hardcore mode, Nuka-Cola will give the player character energy to fend off sleep deprivation, at the cost of dehydrating them. The drink will still heal, as well. When not playing Hardcore mode, Nuka-Cola provides +2 (25s) HP, +3 Rads, & 1 bottle cap.
Crafting[]
With the Honest Hearts add-on installed, the Courier has access to a recipe which enables the creation of a "home-brewed" version of the drink. The actual item produced by the recipe is a normal bottle of Nuka-Cola, which can be used in crafting just like normal Nuka-Cola. Nuka-Cola is also used when crafting super stimpaks, and, with the Nuka Chemist perk, to produce other Nuka-Cola variants.
