The North Mountain lookout, officially designated as Firewatch Tower #5 before the War, is a location in the Savage Divide region of Appalachia. It is located east of Sunnytop Ski Lanes base lodge.
Background[]
Previously operated by two individuals who took their Halloween celebrations to the extreme.[1] This involved excessive decoration of the tower, partying, and throwing government furniture off the balcony. As punishment for repeatedly ignoring warnings about their unsanctioned festivities, they were threatened with termination by their employer, the U.S. National Park Service.[1]
Layout[]
A locked (Picklock varies) explosives crate sits on the ground under the tower. The stairs are littered with assorted junk and containers, including fridges, toolboxes, and a set of binoculars.
The room at the top of the lookout is decorated for Halloween, covered in posters, jack-o-lanterns, and hanging paper bats, borrowed from other watchtowers.[1] Halloween costumes and discarded plastic cups cover the floor, evidence of a long-concluded party. A poster for Freddy Fear's House of Scares hangs on the window.
Notable loot[]
- Three department notices - Notes, on the table in the lookout.
- Halloween costume witch hat - On a table in the lookout.
- Halloween costume skeleton - On the floor in the lookout.
Appearances[]
The North Mountain lookout appears only in Fallout 76.
