Nocturnal is a first star armor, power armor and weapon legendary mod in Fallout 76, introduced in the Milepost Zero update.
Effects[]
The Nocturnal grants certain bonuses while the player character is cloaked. "Cloaked" refers to having a Stealth Field active. This can come from a Stealth Boy or other sources; see here for a list.
Armor[]
The Nocturnal mod for armor gives +4 PER and AGI while Cloaked.
Weapons[]
The Nocturnal mod for weapons provides +50% Damage while Cloaked.
Crafting[]
Locations[]
- Can drop as a random effect on any legendary armor, power armor or weapon.
- Mod boxes have a 1.5% chance to be received from scrapping a Nocturnal legendary item.
- Can be crafted at a tinker's workbench once learned.
- Crafting has a 1% chance to be unlocked from scrapping a Nocturnal legendary item.
- Can be traded.
Notes[]
- This mod can be applied to gear with armor workbench, power armor station or weapons workbench.
- The item from which the mod was learned does not matter. The learned mod can be applied to any armor, power armor or weapon.
- This mod's effects have been changed over successive updates. The original Nocturnal effect applied to armor provided additional Damage Resistance and Energy Resistance at night, between 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., and stacked additively for a total of 200 DR and 200 ER. Their descriptions were:
- (Armor) +40 Damage Resistance and Energy Resistance at Night
- (Weapons) +50% Damage at Night
- Update Changes:
- Patch 28 removed the daytime debuff.
- Patch 60 (Gone Fission)
Bugs[]
- [patched]
- With the release of Gone Fission, the Nocturnal armor mod's effect was changed, so this bug no longer applies.
Although the armor effect is supposed to give +40 resistance per armor piece, the effect currently is not working correctly. First piece provides 40 resistance, the second provides 120, third 200, fourth 280 and the fifth one 360, for the total of 1000 damage and energy resistance.
