Everything you see is funded by the Followers of the Apocalypse. We rely a lot on charity to provide low-cost medical services to the less fortunate.Doctor Usanagi

The New Vegas medical clinic is a location in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.

Background[]

Doctor Usanagi, a member of the Followers of the Apocalypse, oversees the day-to-day operations. Being a clinic run and operated by one of theirs, everything is funded by the Followers as well. However, the Followers' lack of considerable wealth means they can't pay for everything and Usanagi often has to rely on charity to provide most lost-cost services.[1] Besides clinical care, the Doctor also offers implant surgeries for a steep price.

Layout[]

Situated slightly east of the Crimson Caravan Company in Outer Vegas, the exterior is that of a one-story building with double doors on the south face. In the interior, there is a waiting room in which guests wait to be accommodated by Dr. Usanagi. Further into the clinic is a surgery room, a small classroom for medical students, and a toilet. The building is inhabited by Doctor Usanagi, two unnamed male clinic guards in the main room when entering and one unnamed male Followers medical student in the back near the surgery room.

Notable loot[]

Seven syringes of Med-X can be stolen from the surgery room, on the middle rack of the left supply cart.

Notes[]

  • The clinic uses "Serenity" as background music, which was originally used for Modoc in Fallout 2.
  • The clinic doesn't have any medical supplies in storage, so the only way to obtain them from this area is by buying them from Usanagi.

Appearances[]

The New Vegas medical clinic appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.

Behind the scenes[]

  • The New Vegas medical clinic is situated in the same geographical location as the Operation Hope Medical Clinic within the CARE Complex, a non-profit free medical and dental clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada.[2]
  • The window to the right of the outside doors has a smiley face with an "X" below it. This sign is similar to the symbol used in "hobo code" to indicate that "the doctor at this office will treat hobos free of charge," which is consistent with the humanitarian mission of the Followers.[3]
