"New Vegas Valley" is a song sung by The Lonesome Drifter in the Aces Theater at The Tops casino in Fallout: New Vegas. He must first be recruited for the theater; see the quest Talent Pool for more information.

Lyrics[]

From this wasteland they say you are going
We will miss your bright eyes and sweet smile
For they say you are taking the sunshine
that has brightened our road for a while

So come sit by my side if you love me
Do not hasten to bid me adieu
Just remember the New Vegas valley
and the drifter that loved you so true

For a long time my darling I've waited
for the sweet words you never would say
Now at last all my fond hopes have vanished
for they say that you're going away

So come sit by my side if you love me
Do not hasten to bid me adieu
Just remember the New Vegas valley
and the drifter that loved you so true

Notes[]

  • The song is set to the tune of, and shares lyrics with, the traditional ballad "Red River Valley."
  • In the credits, it is listed as one of the songs on Radio New Vegas, but in fact it is not played on any radio station.
  • The song is adapted and performed by Joshua Sawyer, the lead designer and project director of Fallout: New Vegas. The guitar segments for the song were performed by environment artist James Melilli. In the in-game credits, the rights to the song are listed as "courtesy of Bethesda Softworks LLC."[1][2]

Note: "New Vegas Valley" is erroneously credited as "New Vegas Radio," although Melilli is listed as a performer on the song.
  2. Question: "I noticed you wrote and performed a few songs for the soundtrack. What instrument do you play?"
Joshua Sawyer: "I actually don't play any instruments (unless you count the dulcitar I just started to learn). The guitar parts for the Lonesome Drifter's songs were performed by Nathaniel Chapman and James Melilli."
