New Appalachian Railroad (abbreviated NAR) is a pre-War transportation company and rail network found in Appalachia.

Rail stations[edit | edit source]

Commuter stations consist of one-story buildings and a platform. Stairs from the platform lead to the ground. Inside the stations are information and ticketing terminals alongside Protectron station attendants inside locked rooms with caged windows.

Rail lines[edit | edit source]

Red line[edit | edit source]

Grafton Station - Morgantown Station - Sutton Station - Charleston Station - Mount Blair trainyard - Lewisburg Station - Big Bend Tunnel - NAR repair yard - Watoga Station - Red Line trainyard

The Red Line consists of six known stations and three trainyards.

Description[edit | edit source]

The Red Line directly connects the capital of West Virginia, Charleston, to the cities of Grafton, Morgantown, Sutton, Lewisburg and Watoga. Between Lewisburg and Watoga, the rail goes underneath the entirety of the Savage Divide through the Big Bend Tunnel.

Stations[edit | edit source]

Current status[edit | edit source]

Like the rest of the network, the Red Line is currently not in a serviceable condition due to damage to tracks and rolling stock. The trainyard in Watoga is also inoperable due to flooding. Many of the stations have been converted into trading posts by the raiders and Responders. The east entrance into the Big Bend Tunnel became a Brotherhood of Steel checkpoint.

Blue line[edit | edit source]

Sunnytop Station - Pleasant Valley Station - New Appalachian central trainyard - The Whitespring Station - R&G Station

The Blue Line consists of four known stations and one trainyard.

Description[edit | edit source]

The Blue Line runs north to south in the middle of Appalachia, connecting multiple resorts to the system's central trainyard.

Stations[edit | edit source]

Current status[edit | edit source]

Like the rest of the network, the Blue Line is currently not in a serviceable condition due to damage to tracks and rolling stock. The derailed 98 NAR Regional blocks the tracks between Pleasant Valley Station and the central trainyard. Many of the stations have been converted into trading posts by the raiders and Responders, while the Whitespring Station remains staffed by its Protectron vendor.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • In some stations, a map with markers can be found which can be used to learn all of the station locations.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

New Appalachian Railroad appears only in Fallout 76.
