The Mysterious Magnum is a weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics
A unique .44 magnum pistol which crits and plays a Western twang whenever you draw or holster it. It is unique in that it features a silver finish with intricate engravings etched into its barrel, cylinder, hammer and trigger, and its handle/hilt is made of Ivory.
Locations
Owned by The Lonesome Drifter who is sitting in front of the Sunset Sarsaparilla billboard next to the highway (little east of El Dorado Dry Lake and north of El Dorado Gas & Service). Can be acquired by passing a barter skill check (50 Barter required) when hiring him for the mission Talent Pool.
Notes
- The Mysterious Magnum is reminiscent of the Mysterious Stranger's .44 magnum. The drifter says that his father was a mysterious guy and sometimes a stranger, and when you take out the weapon, the classic Mysterious Stranger music plays - all implying that the Mysterious Stranger may be the Drifter's father.
Bugs
- The Magnum may not spawn on the Lonesome Drifter's corpse if killed
- If the player has the "Quick Draw" perk, when drawing the revolver the Mysterious Stranger theme will occasionaly play twice. To hear it play correctly, simply go into third person and draw the revolver.
