Mutfruit is a consumable item found in Fallout: New Vegas.

Characteristics[]

Mutfruit is an ingredient for the super stimpak and Cass' moonshine. The fruit provides both hydration and sustenance, and provides them at moderately higher levels than other fruits such as fresh apples or fresh pears. This makes it one of the more nutritious fruits, although due to the fact it's mutated, it gives a small amount of radiation.

Locations[]

  • Mutfruit appears in the item tables for most merchants, so any merchant that is capable of selling food items can, at any point, have an unspecified number of mutfruit in their shop inventory. There is a higher chance of finding them when shopping with traders who deal specifically with food items.
  • There are two in the supply room of the restaurant of the Tops, and there are two more in the presidential suite.
  • Three in the kitchen in the resort of Camp Golf.
  • Three in the kitchen of the Great Khan longhouse in Red Rock Canyon.
  • Three in the supply room behind the front counter of the Atomic Wrangler Casino.
  • Three in one of the broken coolers in the Goodsprings General Store.
  • One can be found in a truck between Jean Sky Diving and Sloan near a few coyotes.
  • Like most food items, they can usually be found in fridges.

Behind the scenes[]

"Mutfruit" is short for mutated fruit. The first syllable of the word is pronounced [muht ] in Fallout: New Vegas and pronounced [myo͞ot ] in Fallout 4.
