Mushroom Cloud is a confectionary consumable item in Fallout: New Vegas.

Characteristics[]

At base value this food gives +3 HP per second for 20 seconds, healing 80 Hit Points with a Survival skill of 35, which is necessary to craft it. It also increases the player character's maximum AP by +3, similar to chems such as Jet or Rocket. Comparatively, this boost is small, but it scales with the Survival skill and stacks with other similar effects, while not carrying any risk of addiction. These boosts make it a potent mid-level healing item.

Contrary to its name, the recipe does not contain any mushrooms or cave fungus. The name mushroom cloud comes from the shape of the finished candy that looks like a mushroom and also looks like the mushroom cloud created due to the atmospheric effects from a nuclear blast, and from the meringue used to make the shape which is light and fluffy like a cloud. Notes[]

Despite the ingredients gum drops and sugar bombs both containing radiation, Mushroom Cloud does not increase the player character's radiation level, making it a way of turning irradiated food into a more "healthy" alternative.

Behind the scenes[]

Bugs[]

PCPC Playstation 3Playstation 3Playstation 3 Xbox 360Xbox 360 Prior to patch 1.2.0.31x, the recipe called for two piles of night stalker eggs. This is a quest item for Bleed Me Dry, and only one could be found in the entire game, preventing the recipe from being created. It has since been changed to require only one regular night stalker egg. [verified]
