Mr. Messenger is a Mr. Handy in Appalachia.

Mr. Messenger and its associated event were disabled and removed from Fallout 76 in 2021 due to technical issues with the event.

Background

Mr. Messenger is programmed to deliver a telegram, but, due to a technical malfunction, is behind schedule. They may only be found during The Messenger random encounter, which initializes Event: The Messenger.

Mr. Messenger will request assistance installing a hardware item nearby (memory transistor, navigation capacitor, positioning sensor, signal resistor, or stabilizer coil). Once repaired, it will resume its assignment to deliver a message to a specific location. The player is to accompany the Messenger along its route and must protect it from harm until it arrives at its destination and can deliver its message.
