Inside Moriarty's: Gob (Left) Billy Creel (Right)
Moriarty's Saloon is one of the bars in the town of Megaton owned by a money-hungry man named Colin Moriarty. Drinks are served by the Ghoul bartender Gob, and the saloon is also home to Nova, the prostitute, who will sleep with the player for 120 caps. (Nova will sleep with you when you rent the room, this is not optional).
The saloon is where the Vault Dweller encounters many characters, such as the mysterious Mr. Burke, or Lucy West. Mr. Burke is an amoral agent of the affluent Tenpenny Tower, who propositions that the player detonate the dormant nuclear weapon in the base of the crater upon which Megaton is situated. Lucy West, on the other hand, will provide the opportunity to start the Blood Ties quest.
You visit this place for the storyline quest Following in His Footsteps, though there is much else to do here. Moriarty is, according to Lucas Simms, privy to information on the Vault Dweller's Father, but also untrustworthy. Information can be gleaned through a bribe, successful use of speech, hacking his computer, picking the lock on his filing cabinent, or outright killing the proprietor (Though this might not go over so well with the inhabitants of Megaton).
