The Moonvale Tunnel, also known as the Moonville Tunnel, is an unmarked location in the Burning Springs region of Appalachia in Fallout 76, introduced in the Burning Springs update. Although the tunnel itself is filled with rubble, there are two points at which the tunnel can be seen: north of Hocking Hills Station, and southwest of Sandy's Sock Hop.
Background[]
This tunnel was part of the Route 33 roadway in Ohio before the Great War, although Highway 35 ran directly above it. At some point, the tunnel was filled with rubble, making it largely inaccessible.

Notable loot[]
- Abraxodyne intel:
- One can be found at the tunnel exit near Sandy's Sock Hop, in the rubble, next to a dead Highway Town settler.
- One can be found at in at the tunnel exit near Hocking Hills Station, inside a shopping cart to the left of the entrance.
- Tunnel life - Note, at the tunnel exit near Hocking Hills Station, on a makeshift table in a campsite within the tunnel.
Notes[]
As an unmarked location, this tunnel is never directly named in-game. However, editor IDs in the game's files identify it multiple times as "Moonvale Tunnel"[1][2] and on one occasion, "Moonville Tunnel."[3] One reference record in the game's files may indicate that the tunnel was originally slated to have a map marker, but this was left unimplemented by the time of the Public Test Server.[4]
Appearances[]
The Moonvale Tunnel appears only in Fallout 76, introduced in the Burning Springs update.
Behind the scenes[]
This location is based on the real-world Moonville Tunnel in Vinton County, Ohio. It is part of the Moonville Rail-Trail near the ghost town of Moonville.
