I should be grateful[]

Tommy gave us the heads up. Of all the people in the world, it had to be Tommy that I owe for surviving the end of the world.

It almost makes up for how insufferable he is. Almost.

Tommy's what we like to call a classic show-off. It's not enough that he got a nice job at Vault-Tec, he had to let everyone know about it. I feel like the only reason he told us about the wild experiments those eggheads were going to do on us, was because he figured we'd be grateful.

That's when he told us all about this private retreat he and a few investors were putting together, and what a big favor he'd be doing us all by giving us rooms. And yeah, it's a nice place. It gots plumbing, heating, and you can't beat the view.

But you know what would make it even better? If Tommy weren't here.

The truth about Tommy[]

So it turns out I was right. Tommy wasn't trying to do us no favors. I mean it makes sense. Him and his hedge fund friends put a lot of money into this place, and now he wants to tell us he was gonna let us stay here for free?

Tommy, the same guy who'll charge you 90% interest on the change he dropped in your couch cushions? Nah, it doesn't add up.

So I broke into his terminal, just so I could put two and two together. And it turns out, he didn't want to save us. He wanted us to be the help. We would get to live in his fancy "Juniper Cove Resort," and in exchange for room and board, we'd do all the work. That meant scrubbing toilets, feeding him grapes, that sort of shit.

Well, I see enough crap coming from Tommy's mouth, the last thing I want to do is make it my job to wipe it.

Good riddance[]

It's done. We were gonna take Tommy out for a little swim out by the pond. The plan was to offer him a beer, and get him nice and drunk. Then we'd get him in the pond, make it look like an accident, so Wendy wouldn't freak.

At least, that was the plan, until John pulled out a gun and shot him in the head.

So I yell at John, "What the fuck!" and he goes, "Mike, I've seen enough movies to know elaborate plans don't work."

John's a little crazy, but I can deal with crazy. If he's killed a bunch of people, at least he ain't gonna brag about it.

Why is it bothering me so much?[]

I keep seeing his stupid face every night I try to sleep. Why is it bothering me so much this arrogant piece of garbage is dead?

I should be dancing on the pier, having the time of my life. But I haven't been back to the pond since. Can't even look at my own reflection without feeling sick.

Maybe I should have told Wendy. John ain't exactly the kind of guy you confide in.
