A metal box is a container in Fallout: New Vegas. Metal boxes are used for the storage of various items. They also share their model with the uncommonly encountered "Box," though the "box" container is somewhat taller than the "metal box."
Characteristics[]
Metal boxes can be found virtually everywhere. Items found in metal boxes are mostly random junk. However, some items such as keys, ammunition, notes or quest-specific items will be found in the same metal box or container. They are known to respawn their contents, and thus may not be safe to store items.

One next to a toolbox in the back of the pickup truck on the road just north of the Old Rockville Bridge.- One inside the boat at the Red Rapids docks.
- One in the back of the trailer that is teetering on the edge of the cliff to the right of the bridge just north of the southern passage.
- One can be found next to the body of a wastelander on the shore of the river just north of the southern passage directly underneath the trailer on the edge of the cliff above.
- One inside the Stone Bones cave.
- Two can be found in lying around throughout the Three Marys canyon.
- One in the Vault 22 dwellers' guard camp.
- One next to a toolbox in the back of a pickup truck parked just west of the Zion Valley welcome booth.
