A melon is a miscellaneous item in Fallout 4.
Characteristics
Melons can only be planted in dirt. They can be harvested for food to feed settlers. A settler must be assigned to the plant with the Workshop menu in order to grow and harvest the fruit.
Locations
Melons can be purchased from multiple vendors across the Commonwealth. It can also be harvested from the player character's planted melon patches and patches found in abandoned or owned farms. Taking melons from owned farms is considered stealing.
