Melissa has an New Zealand accent, so it is possible that her deceased mother (who is mentioned by Chomps Lewis) was of New Zealand descent, as Chomps mentions that Melissa has a lot of her mother in her.

Bugs

  • Xbox 360Xbox 360 There is no way of completing the "Oh My Papa" quest if you speak to Melissa first and do the "Don't Make a Beggar of Me" quest. It does not matter if you turn her in, or if you give her the chems, the very act of completing the quest makes her disappear. The "Oh My Papa" quest the marker will still point at the Great Khan Encampment but she will not be there. It is not confirmed, but if you sneak kill Papa Khan and you will complete "Oh My Papa". Patch 1.02 has fixed this glitch, so you can now complete "Oh My Papa" if you finished "Don't Make a Beggar of Me" previously.
    • If you are playing on the PC you can use console commands to fix this glitch but if you playing on the 360 you are screwed out of completing yet another quest. Happens on PS3 as well.
    • The console command is as follows:
      prid e5e51
      enable
    • PCPC You can still complete the "Oh My Papa" quest, even if Melissa disappears from Great Khan Encampment. Either by exposing the legions plan by finding Karl's journal then talking to Papa Khan or completing the optional objective in allying with the NCR via asking Regis's opinion of the NCR, talking to Colonel Cassandra Moore then killing Papa Khan.
    • The bug should be reworded to state you can't take the path of convincing Melissa and the others, since she disappears. Sure you can complete the quest other ways, but that's not the point.
    • On the PC, using console commands, Melissa can be Enabled and she will respawn. The correct dialog to finish that part of the quest is there.
  • Template:Platforms xbox360 Melissa can be killed by a deathclaw making the quest Don't make a beggar of me impossible.
