Mechminster Abbey is a settlement introduced in Winter of Atom.

Background[]

Despite its dilapidated state, the abandoned church still serves as a place of devotion, though its focus has shifted towards reverence for steel, fire, and all things mechanical. Mechminster Abbey, governed by the Sisters of the Forge, a dedicated group of female blacksmiths and mechanics adorned with c-wrench necklaces instead of rosaries, remains a beacon of hope. Uttering their prayers in hushed tones, "Where there is light, there is hope," the Sisters tirelessly stoke the forge, providing charitable aid to those fighting the noble battle in the Commonwealth. Firmly opposing the Last Son of Atom and his perilous doctrine, they commit themselves to guiding others away from his influence. Regrettably, the harsh winter conditions have caused a shift in their priorities. Scarce food supplies and a recent onslaught of frost feral ghouls have thrown Mechminster Abbey's defenses into disarray. With their pews filled and their coffers depleted, the Sisters find themselves in need, compelled to extend their reach and seek external assistance.[Non-game 1]

Characteristics[]

This small settlement has just 43 settlers, somewhat weak defenses, limited food supply, and a somewhat grim outlook on life.

Notes[]

The Sisters hold all Children of Atom to be heretics who offend their faith. Children of Atom characters are likely to be unwelcome in the Abbey.

Appearances[]

Mechminster Abbey appears only in Winter of Atom.
