Mayfield was the police chief of Morgantown.

Background[]

Police chief Mayfield helped lead Morgantown prior to and after the Great War. After students began looting the city, he opened fire on them and declared a mandatory curfew. Though he enjoyed support from much of the local law enforcement, he was opposed by other Responders like Melody Larkin who viewed his actions as heavy-handed. Complaints against Mayfield were raised with acting governor Abigale Poole and the Charleston Emergency Government, but it is unclear whether they took any action against him.[1]

Within a year of the War the police lost control of Morgantown, with former students of Vault-Tec University and Morgantown High School divided between Roof House and Street House battling each other for supplies and dominance in the ruined city.[2]

Due to his order of martial law being cut from the game, it is unclear whether full martial law was in effect in Morgantown, or just a mandatory curfew.

Appearances[]

Mayfield is mentioned only in Fallout 76.

Behind the scenes[]

Mayfield was originally named "Mayweather," according to the cut notes Rally for justice! and Rally flyer.
